I am new here and thought I would say hello and ask a quick question as
well.

Starting last Friday morning, when I turn my monitor on the self test
flickered and faded out, I do have power. I have to turn it off and
then on several times and, so far, it has come to life. My first
thought was my video card so I removed the cable from the system with
the same result. I then removed the cable from the monitor (to make
sure there wasn't a short causing the problem) with no change in
result.

I have noticed that when it's warmer inside that I don't have this
problem. The monitor is a LCD Flat Panel Display that supports HDMI and
VGA and is 3.5 years old. I am currently using the HDMI and a point of
information.

Does anyone have an idea of what the problem is or if I should even
look into a repair?

Joyce
