While I have never used an LCD Flat-Panel, I still think they should be
approached the same way, as if you had a CRT. They should only be
worked on by someone licensed to that. I am not implying you did(or
will), I just know that, the voltage inside a monitor is very dangerous
so, please don't open it up.
Also, Your monitor sounds like it is, on its deathbed since, removing
the cable from the system, and then, from the monitor, didn't change the
result.
