In the Add-Remove CPL, the Windows component section are two new
programs. They are com+ 18 Megabytes and 'distributed transaction
coordinator'  7M. They seem to be related, and the important thing is
that you can't uncheck them to get rid of them. That fact led me to
wonder whether this is some kind of malware. They are not on my other
computer, but it was recently 'rescued' using the factory disks. The
descriptions are similar hence my feeling that they are related/ They
sound similar, something about providing support for some kind of
distributing for developers.

Anyone know anything about this?
