Hi Jim... Been away on personal business so my reply is a bit late. Perhaps I am not explaining myself correctly. The system boots properly to the log-in prompt. When I log-in, the specific programs that are in the startup directories for all users and my specific startup seem to load in random order. For example...my GMail notifier loads B4 the Network is activated causing the GMail to show no connection available. Sometimes the Network loads B4 the GMail so its functional. Watching the icons in the taskbar you see different orders on most every startup.
What I was wondering if there was some sort of option that would set the priority of how these load, i.e, Network first, Virus/email scanner second, GMail third and so on. Have I thoroughly messed with everyone's head? It seems unlikely that the computer will load programs in different order each time it starts up. What might be happening is that a program fails to start and the next program is then tries to load. What makes you think that the programs are loading in different orders? Also have you looked at msconfig and checked the startup list?
