sorry when i wrote my last question i was being interrupted, i took my tower
in, on the invoice he wrote"ran down diagnostics until got to RAM, substituting
good RAM for suspected bad, removed old memory and installed new. taking me
from 256MB to 512MB. someone wanted to know what i was charged, it cost 25.00
for the service and repair and 69.50 for the 512 pc3200. i will try all the
suggestions i received so far. thanks again for the help
