Thank you Rupert. Need I say that I couldn't have said it better myself. I
value each and every member, but in the best

Interest of all the members as a whole I'm going to say. we may lose a
member or two for Christmas if their method of

"helping" can't be toned down a bit.

Think about it and then I will decide how and when to resolve it. Once and
for all.

Subject: Re: [A-1-Computer_Tech] Petty squabbles

Hello Ian

I have been a member here since 2003 (I think), so I would like to make the
following observations to add a common sense overview and some clarity.

I have seen a few problems here over the years which have unfortunately
resulted
in lost members and also banned members. It usually starts with a
personality
clash and spins out of control with lots of spurious posts that are of no
help
or interest to members.

I have done some research regarding the present "squabbles" and the evidence
is
quite clear:

Ian, you joined this list on 12 September 2007 and 17/09/07 posted this:

>>You could also look at Pandasoftware.com where an online scan will detect
>>and deal with your problem. Their Titanium is the best in my view.

Since then you have caused no end of friction on this subject. Ivan has said
he
uses Panda and likes the program but the difference is that he is offering a

variety of possible programs including free programs because a lot of
members
here might not be able to afford Mcafee, Norton OR Panda, I wish you could
understand that and not take it as a challenge to Panda software ... they
are
just alternative solutions.

A later disagreement developed between you and Paris circa 23/11/07
resulting in
Paris being banned. You have since had serious disagreements with Emile,
Harry
Worth, Ivan, No6, myself and even the group owner Bixen.

I am afraid you are the common denominator my friend, and whilst I
appreciate
the wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm you bring to this list I am weary of
the
discontent that you are also causing, albeit in all probability
unintentional.
Please take a look at the archives from 12 September 2007, the evidence is
quite
clear and undisputable and has resulted in the introduction of subject lines

like "bickering" and now "petty squabbles". It can't always be someone
else's
fault, even you must surely eventually reach that conclusion?

It would be such a great Christmas present to myself if you could just stick
to
answering questions and NOT provoking other members by criticising their
solutions UNLESS they are in error, in which case try to be tactful and
considerate in the way you reply?

This is my one and only post on this subject and I will not be drawn into
any
further discussion on the matter.

Merry Christmas, peace and goodwill to everyone

Rupert
