The Yellow icon is for Windows updates not just the IE7. If you have update set it will be in your System tray.
Did you update IE from 6 or simply download and install? In the File menu it shows "work offline" when you are in fact online. Seems backwards perhaps but it simply indicates that to work "offline" you click here. Who tells you America doesn't want IE? It works just fine on the computers I see. If you go to this like some FAQ may give some clue. http://www.microsoft.com/uk/windows/products/winfamily/ie/iefaq.mspx One talks about some sites not opening in IE7 -------Original Message------- From: Felicia Date: 03/02/2008 04:57:27 To: [email protected] Subject: [A-1-Computer_Tech] Internet Explorer 7 I'm running on Windows XP and I tried Internet Explorer for the second time and it would NOT LET ME ONLINE. I would click on the blue "e" and it would tell me that I'm working offline and if I didn't want to continue to work offline, I should click on Tools in the tool bar and uncheck "work offline" and I did. It still wouldn't find the connection, so I uninstalled it. So how do I turn off the yellow icon telling me I have updates ready to install? I don't want IE 7 but I need it for work. This is really ticking me off (along with the rest of America who doesn't want IE 7).
