Hi
Every OEM Recovery Setup medium is different and each year they do something
different from the last. It's hard to keep up. My three year old Toshiba
has all the XP installation and the OEM drivers, and the OEM crapware on one
DVD, and everything is installed automatically in a Recovery. Toshiba has a
choice of clean OEM restore or a non-destructive restore. and I can locate
all the OEM Drivers and Crapware individually on the Recovery DVD and install
them individually.
My two year old Gateway comes with an OEM proprietory XP installation
DVD but the OEM drivers, and the crapware were on a special partition that I
had to Backup. Gateway also has a non-destructive recovery option. The OEM
drivers and crapware can easily be copied or installed individually from the
Backup CD. Until I accidentally deleted my driver/crapware partition the XP
DVD and the partition were joined in one complete auto install. Now if I
want to do an OEM recovery, which I have no need for anymore, I would need
to
install each OEM driver/crapware individually from the Backup CD. A Long
job. Bye
Emile
