And technically already has, the last two computer I bought have SATA.
I remember when I learned that these serial devices, i.e. USB and
SATA, etc are faster then parallel.

Yes, I had a good look at the one in my Dell. And I actually installed
one of my IDE drives as a second drive.

Someone said that they thought that the SATA connector is more
fragile. I didn't really think that the old connector was so great,
especially early on. It was possible to plug it in backwards. It
didn't cause any harm but I had to turn it around. Finally they put
the notch and bump on the connector.

Yes, I didn't actually look at the board end very much. The computer
is a bit dark there on the mobo.

Yes, and that's one reason that sales won't be as good as if people
could replace their old drives with the new ones.
