I have never had a computer that was really bad. My daughter had one,
but she was not aware that it was bad. And it's not that it behaved
badly, just that it was really junky. She brought it to me when she
was finished with it. It was a Packard Bell if I remember correctly.
The case was riveted shut and there were no slots for adding hardware.
Of course not, you would not have been able to get into the thing to
install them. I drilled out the rivets to get at the innards, which
wasn't much. I don't think that I still have it, there wasn't much
worth saving, I probably did save the hard drive.
Among the low priced machines I think the emachines are not really
bad. I bought one for my sister quite a few years ago. She had it
until recently when she came into some money and never complained
about it. I think that most low end computers sold by store chains are
quite OK. I like Tigerdirect.com for electronics and computing stuff.
I have bought quite a lot from them.
