Did you have the driver CD with the computer and run that. Windows may not
have a driver for this hardware. In that case you go to the 

CD manufacturer web site support section and download drivers for your CD
version.

I am having a problem with my cd driver. I supposedly have "HLDS GCC- 

4243N Slim CDRW/DVDROM 24X GBAS" on my dell latitude d600. I had to 

Wipe it clean a while back and reinstall drivers but when I reinstalled 

This one, it hasn't accessed my cd driver since. Any clue to what I 

Need to do? If more info is needed please let me know. I am fairly 

Clueless but can follow instructions pretty good.
