Actually there are several methods of getting past the Windows password, 
and googling win xp password
will bring up bunches of them.

Here are a couple I've found so far -

This method exploits a security hole in the Windows installation process 
to reset your password

Here is the Microsoft method which requires that you have previously 
created a password recovery disk -

By far the easiest way IMHO would be the following link which offers a 
burnable CD image which contains the tools to reset your password -
