The main diff. between these two is probably the amount of power that 
is used. A home wireless network, like I have, is not guaranteed to 
have a range beyond your home, or maybe an office. A city wide system 
is supposed to have much wider range, needless to say. I have not kept 
track of all the 802 permutations, I don't even know what mine is. TMI 
to remember. :-)
