My nephew has a Dell Dimension 4700 with 1 gig ram and a 160 gig hard drive. His hard drive has been making funny clicking sounds and crashes on him. The hard drive is Maxtor and is 4 years old. He is getting a new (well used) Maxtor from a friend of his. In the mean time his pc won't defrag. It keeps telling him to run check disk and scandisk. What are the proper commands to do this from 'run' Everytime he types in what he thinks they are, it tells him they can't be found - check spelling. Well, you guys have saved me in the past, hopefully you'll be able to help.
