Actually, the things that most OSes have beyond the basics are
probably not that exciting. So the main reason for choosing Vista over
XP is probably that basically it will be supported longer than XP by a
significant amount. That does mean that there is no reason to rush
into buying Vista if you have XP functioning on your machine unless
you like the jazzy look and have hardware that can benefit from it.
But it also means that when you are ready to buy a new machine that
there's no valid reason to be afraid of it and ask for XP instead.
