In the end you are backward looking then it seems.

You were late in the day with XP it seems.

My two laptops are a MacBook and the other will only run XP. However I
have extensive experience in setting it up for my users and maintaining
it. I just don't use it much personally.

I never had a problem getting old hardware to work in XP. Perhaps things
will improve with Vista in time but in my experience some hardware *that
isn't that old* just haven't worked the way they should. I would rather
something did not work at all in it, to be honest. But in some cases with
printers and scanners, some functions work fine whereas others do not. And
I have spent many hours with a user battling with these issues.

I'm not sure I see the point you are trying to make. Windows often
requires you to go and get the appropriate driver from the internet or CD,
too.....

Yes it does. But it took a little while for the vendors to catch up. We
couldn't use our Antivirus product for a few months.

A little bit of a sweeping generalisation there...see my previous email.

Again, I have nothing against Vista - I am just giving you the benefit of
my experience in setting it up etc. In fact I am encouraging my users to
stick with it as much as they possibly can as support for XP is soon to
end.
