Holly,
> You are joking, of course, or is this something you enjoy.
Now that's the kind of language that gets people ticked off. No I'm
not ticked off, but suggesting that someone enjoys 'whatever I am
supposed to enjoy' might make some people feel bad.
> I've noticed much of the back and forth was between you and Ian,
Yes, and that's why I am puzzled since I didn't see anything wrong
with what he said. If this were my group I might just let people leave
who so easily get tick off. Anyone who just quits a group without
discussing it or indicating that they were unhappy may just be too
sensitive. You know the old saying about pleasing some of the people
some of the time, etc.
> Not for the people who have to waste their time reading it.
Why not just skip such messages. I always try to remember that what is
written in text is easy to misunderstand. It always reminds me of
Steve Allen, way back before Johnny Carson and Lenno. He would read
real letter to the editor, with emphasis, because he said that print
doesn't allow emotion. We should not project our emotions into what
people write. Well, that's MHO.
