No, I don't think the company could (or would) trace the computer.  
Maybe if he goes to their website and registers the PC by inputting its 
serial number - but nobody does that anyway.  Isn't it a bit cynical to 
assume the seller is a criminal?  I'd say just use the PC and enjoy it.
