My friend bought a computer out of a truck in NYC and took it home. When I
found out I warned that it might be hot goods..maybe workers that stole it
from
the transport truck or storage area and that if he plugs it in, the computer
company can trace it. Now he's afraid to use it and be out the money (cash)
that he paid. Any feedback? He's not a criminal type..just a victim
possibly.

Hi:
Programs can be purchased and installed for security but that might be rare.
Otherwise the PC might be registered with the OEM and I don't know if it
could be traced that way. Bye
