I don't know if you've already done this, but:
Go to Start, Run, and type Msconfig. Click on the Startup tab. Now go
to this website:
http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php
Type each entry with a checkmark from the startup list into the search
window on the webpage. This will tell you what the progam does.
Sometimes you might find some spyware or adware. You'll also see a
capital letter next to each result: either a "Y", "N", "U", or "X".
This tells you if it's ok to un-check the program on the startup tab.
If its "Y" you should keep the item checked.
If its "N" you should un-check the item.
If its "U" it means it doesn't matter if you uncheck it. Usually I
always un-check these (you can always re-check them later).
If its "X" it means to "definitely" un-check the item - it's likely
doing harm to your system.
So, give that a try and maybe you'll find what's causing the problem.
Good luck,
Donk
