Hello. I'm having trouble with OUtlook 2007. It's on a Vista Home
Premium Toshiba laptop, now.

I had Outlook files on a homebuilt XP Pro machine. It was originally
Outlook 2003 then upgraded to 2007, so the files are presumably
2007. Anyway - that Mobo died, so I have the drives out and into
another computer as slave and the other in an external USB case. I
can see the .pst files but can't seem to get them into OUtlook in the
new laptop. I don't care about the email so much as contacts and
calendar. The files will open in gibberish. I know that Microsoft
in their infinite wisdom changed the file system between Office XP
and 2003, but as my install was always 2003 or newer, don't think
that's the problem. I haven't done anything with the original .pst
files, all my attempts to open, import, reinstall etc etc has been
with copies. I've tried a crossover network cable, thumb drive,
sharing the drive over the network and mapping to the laptop. When I
get the files to the laptop is says I don't have permissions. When I
look at the files, it says the are archive. I've tried changing that
to full permission and logging on as different users including
admin.

Is there a Ubuntu program that I can use like OpenOffice? I can see
the files in Ububtu. Any suggestions welcomed!! Kay
