You can try gently prying the key off (if you haven't already tried it) 
and making sure there's nothing underneath preventing the connection to 
be made.  The key will snap back on.  It's normal for all the keys to 
repeat if held down.  I'm not sure why the f will repeat, but not type a 
single letter, but it seems likely that it is related to something in 
the keyboard itself - rather than in Windows.
