Hi Catrina:
Essentially there are two kinds of files. The first is strictly text
files such as in printing. Anything more involved or complicated such as
pictures or graphic text usually uses a formatting code such as HTML.
To keep it simple you might say one is a printed file and the other is a
created graphic file.

Many people set their e-mail client to accept only printed files, and
many e-mail groups will deliver only printed text files and will strip non-text
information from e-mails. HTML files can carry viral malware and groups
do this to prevent virus infections.

You can do this simple test..........Find a picture on your PC>right click
the picture icon>click send to>then click e-mail recipient>that will open
your e-mail client>address the e-mail to yourself and click send.
The e-mail will arrive back within seconds>it will be in HTML
format>double click the image and you will be asked where to download the
image>download the image to your desktop>cl;ick the download to view the
picture.

Before you delete the e-mail>look to the lower left of the AOL e-mail and
select to save the e-mail online to AOL>the picture will be saved forever
to AOL,

You can create a folder on the desktop>drag and drop folders, pictures, or
other files into the folder>sendto e-mail recipient (yourself)>when the
e-mail is delivered save the whole thing online to AOL, or anywhere on your
PC.

To view stuff saved online to AOL>open AOL>select online saved
files>locate the e-mail and select download>you will be advised that the
e-mail has
already been downloaded if the old one is still on the PC>If there is a copy
on the PC you will be asked if you want to overwrite the old copy otherwise
select a download location on the PC.

By the way, once folders or pictures are saved to AOL as e-mails they can
be viewed on anybodies PC. Use their browser to sign in to www.aol.com
>when aol opens click view mail>type in your name and password>click online
saved mail>continue with download. Hope this helps. Bye

Emile
