From: kevin19_89 <[email protected]> Subject: [A-1-Computer_Tech] IDE cable question To: [email protected] Date: Monday, November 22, 2010, 1:25 PM can i plug an ide hard drive and ide dvd burner to same data cable or will it give me problems? if not will it slow the hard drive down a lot? i got ide dvd burner and sata hard drive and my sata hard drive is going out. i thought i ordered an adapter that plugs the sata cables to it and i plug ide to other side and converts it but it goes on the sata hard drive and converts it to IDE. i got a few choices here and trying to make it cheapest: put ide hard drive and dvd burner on same data cable buy another sata hard drive (but i just got a brand new ide hard drive less than a year old buy sata dvd burner what would yall advise for me to do? i want the cheapest way that wont affect my system performance much rahther just put hard drive and dvd burner on same cable but its used for some gaming Note: i am using xp going to vista soon [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ If you have any questions or problems with any aspect of this site, please feel free to contact me directly [email protected] Please do not post personal issues directly to the group.
