I believe the drivers for three drives I have on my desktop computer may be
corrupted or??

I am using WinXP OS.

The issue...

I have (1) HP CD-WRITER+8290
          (2) IDE-DVD DROM6216
          (3) TIGERJET CD-ROM USB DEVICE

Numbers 1 & 2 have been on the computer almost forever, no problems. The Tiger
Jet device is actually the MagicJack telephone VOIP. I have had it connected
for many months without issue.

So here is how this started. The Tiger Jet (Magic Jack) boots every time at
startup. Yesterday I noticed that upon starting up, it did not boot. The icon
was also missing from the tray at the bottom right toolbar. When I went to
programs and started it there manually it says I need to plug in the device as
though it doesn't see it. I googled the message and found people had had
similar problems but nothing I tried worked. I also ran my optimize program
and spybot with nothing found. I am currently doing a full system scan with my
Norton virus program. It should be noted here also that in the device manager,
all three drives have a yellow icon with an exclamation point. Seems this is
indicating an error of some type. When I try to update drivers, I'm told all
drivers are up to date. I also did a system restore and that didn't work as it
indicates that nothing has changed.

A couple of weeks ago I wrote this forum about my laptop ceasing to function.
I have since found the problem there but used an enclosure for the HD and
connected it to a USB port on this desktop that is having the problem. Seems
there were no problems but that is when this started. However the laptop is
running now with no problems. Also it sees its DVD drive that it has with no
problem. Coincidence maybe?

I sure hope someone might have an answer. I'm pretty sure that if I refresh
the whole desktop I will be fine but I really don't want to take that road if I
have to. If someone might have a solution in the US, I would certainly be
willing to pay for a phone call to be walked through this.

I hope this narrative is understandable. The main issue is that the computer
won't operate the drives

Computers..."seems" you can't live without them these days?

Thanks!
