Hello :) I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on an HP CQ5300Y, with 2 GB (1.87 usable) memory. I have defragged and scanned with several scanners, including Kaspersky 2010 AV, and no problems have been flagged.
Starting about a month and a half ago, Thunderbird started taking anywhere from a few minutes to over an hour to start. It would show up in task manager, but never actually do anything. The times were varied. I started changing the program's priority in task manager to above normal, and that helped. I am on dialup, and was asking Tbird to check several accounts. I figured that was a bottleneck, and am in the process of reorganizing. I have deleted enough accounts and backlogged email from Tbird that her start times are much better again. I still change the priority in task manager, that helps with getting email quicker as well as a faster start. Is there a way to set Thunderbird on an "above normal" priority permanently? Would be nice to not have to reset it every time, and/or as a stop gap to keep very slow start times from happening again.
