Sitting at my desk on the computer and...zap...nothing...

Checked out the situation. The power strip/surge protector is on, monitor,
speakers, modem, everything else on. I try to power up and nothing. Where
the power plugs into the power supply is a green light and it remains on.
I'm thinking that it's either the power supply or the hard drive. But
wouldn't it at least power up if it was the hard drive? So probably the
power supply? How do I tell? Is there a fuse that I don't know about?

It's an HP desktop about 5 or 6 years old. Always been a good computer.

Hope someone can help me out. I don't like using a laptop!!

thanks
