On my small home network, I have 3 computers and an all in one printer, HP Photosmart 5280. All the computers have Windows 7. I would like to use the scanner feature from my laptop. The printer is connected via a print server that's assigned a static ip address of 192.168.1.120, and connected to the wireless router. Printing is fine from all computers. I installed the HP software but when I go to launch the HP Solutions Center where you do the scanning, etc., it says to attach the printer to my computer, which I do not want.
Is there any software that would allow me to use the scanner without having to physically connect the printer to my laptop? Thanks in advance.
