First thing to check is that you have the latest video drivers from the 
video chip manufacturer's support site.

Also check to see that you have the latest version of Adobe's Flash 
player installed.  You can get it here:
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
During the installation be sure to read each screen - I think they have 
begun trying to trick you into installing a toolbar or adware.  (Just 
say "no").
