There's not really a secret - but each phone brand/model is different in the way you do it and the wisdom of doing it (unlocking will void your warranty on some models). The best thing you could do is to do a Yahoo search for your model phone plus the word "unlock". That will tell you exactly how to unlock your phone and what (if any) consequences you might expect.
