Shouldn't your employer (the satellite provider) give you tools to do
this? Anyway, there are a lot of excellent, free mobile apps for
Android or iPhones that provide professional quality, highly detailed
compass info. Here are a couple:

If you don't have a smartphone... I don't think a compass app on a
computer or laptop without GPS would be nearly as accurate - if they
exist at all.
Disclaimer: I've never used either of the above apps, but just from
looking at their features and the many user reviews I can assume they
are excellent at what they do.
