Have been using XP - home edition version 2002 SP 3 - for a few years on this
home-built and essentially has been pretty stable. Usually all I do is turn it
on and it boots up and away we go.
Have a couple of fans to monitor the cpu temp which runs at 30.3C. Sometimes it
gets pretty warm here in the basement. What are chances of the power supply or
cpu overheating and shutting down. Also how would this effect the HD. All these
components have been used steadily for maybe 2-3 years now.
I believe there is an max setting for the CPU in the BIOS. Will check out the
settings as you suggested.
So far I have a video signal going to monitor and it is still holding up for
