OK, I kind of figured that, but thanks for the second opinion. :-) and for
another second opinion, I guess that would erase all the music I downloaded,
too. I'm not sure I want to risk that yet. I had cd's that I downloaded that I
no longer have the discs of. But -- I may have to do that. Oh well. Thanks for
your response. I also read that I can press F1 as soon as the computer turns
on, and then do a system restore without a restore disk. I'm pretty sure I kept
a restore disk but I'll have to go through all my things.

settings on my computer?

Sorry, but there isn't a way to go back to a date that's not listed in
Windows System Restore.
If you can't fix your problem in the current windows operating system,
you have 2 options:

1. If your computer is a major "brand" like Dell, HP, Acer, etc. it
probably came with a method that will quickly restore it to the way it
was the day you bought it. But all data and programs you've added since
you bought it will be erased and have to be re-installed. If you post
the brand and model we can tell you if it has this ability.

2. If you have a Windows installation disk, you can reformat the drive
and install windows from scratch. Again, this will totally erase
everything on the hard drive. But it also will clean your system of any
adware, viruses, and accumulated junk. So it'll run great. This method
can take a while, since you have to install Windows and then download
and install all the correct drivers.
