Turned my HP laptop with XP off Tues night and the sound was fine. Next day no
sound came from the speakers.
I tried system restore back to the time I had turned it on Tues, because I had
done some Windows updates. Looked at all the sound and volume settings... Not
mute & all high. Device mgr has no X or ! But I went to the audio driver and
had it reinstall. Still nothing.

Sounds fine through headphones. I found a forum where a bunch of people said
their sound went off after using an external speaker. I had not done that. But
I tried their advice... Push headphone in and out 20-30 times. Helped them but
not me.

The last 2 things I had done was to connect my cell by data cable to try to add
ringtones (didn't work) and get pics off. Then I updated apps on iTunes and
synced my gen 4 iPod.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
