Hi - I don't use Calibre or even have a Kindle... but I can offer a
general suggestion.
It sounds like the Calibre queue to send books to the Kindle has gotten
clogged with too many downloads. If there is a way to clear this cache
(or queue) it might solve the problem. You'd have to poke around in
Calibre's settings for an option to do this.

If clearing the queue isn't possible I would try uninstalling Calibre,
and then downloading it again and reinstalling it. This would
definitely clear the queue, and should not cause you to lose any of the
book files. From what I've read, the Calibre library won't be erased,
and the new installation will "find" it and import it.
I forget what version of Windows your mom has, but generally you click
Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, or Programs & Features.
You'll come to a list of all the programs installed on the PC. Select
Calibre and then click the Uninstall or Remove button.

Hope that helps,
Donk
