I am curious, what would happen if some of the companies and agencies that feels offended and at risk by that research would buy the company selling USRP2 not to provide it anymore or make a lawsuit to remove some specific feature on the next to be sold USRP2 units?
Are there alternative hardware equipments that can be used and that are 'affordable', even with additional software development effort ? I am paranoid about the resilience of the project to 'attacks' to bring it down and make it unfeasible to build your own gsm hacking stuff. The economical and political effort that the 'counerpart' could put in place not to make that project spread is very high, so the risk context to make it survive is very high too.
