There are a number of other docs around that describe w: in different
people's words. It might be useful to collect pointers to several of
them, since different people might find different explanations more
understandable.
The implementations seem to be fairly consistent now, except for the
minor point that - (minus) and _ (underscore) shouldn't be mixed.
There's an ambiguity that is interpreted differently by different
programs. I'm still not clear what the "right" interpretation is, and
the fact that it took a couple of years for it to come out says
something about how big a deal it is. So it's probably pretty low on
most implementers' lists of problems to fix. There are likely some
other obscure ambiguities lurking in the notation, too.
