Yes, I really wondered about that.
I found the archive by searhcing for "abc tunes" at Google. Got a link
directly to one of the postings there.
There's an unprotected web link to the archive at
http://www.tardis.ed.ac.uk/~ibb/scd/Music/
which seems to be a left-over page from the old "Grand Chain" site.
This is, of course, why I thought the maillist was discontinued. The
archive I found hadn't been updated since 1998.

The new site does not include any link to the list archive.

OK. I never ever post anybody else's email adress in any case, and I
always try to give credit.

But since the Scots-L maillist apparently is still alive and kicking,
maybe someone who actually subscribes should make a tune archive rather
than me.

Don't be too mad at the webmaster, Jack! Everybody makes that kind of
mistakes, and I'm sure that a polite request is all it takes to get
those files removed from the web.
