Maybe, but who's using a MIDI package? I rely on abc2midi to generate
the MIDI, and then just use a MIDI player.

I actually do that, but use a script that generates the V: lines to
make an ABC file that I can both print and play. I'm using ABC
because most other notation packages don't handle unbarred parts the
way I want them.
