I think you are confusing two different ways of writing music here.
Tablature is a way of writing music for a particular instrument, and
it consists of a diagram showing where the musician has to put his
fingers to get the desired notes. Here's an example for guitar:
OLD HABITS
Hank Williams Jr.
(Intro)
E||------9------------9---------9\7-----7---------7-------7\2-|
B||-----10--10-------10--10----10\8-----8--8------8--8----8\3-|
G||------------9------------9----------------7---------7------|
D||--0------------0------------------0---------0--------------|
A||-----------------------------------------------------------|
E||-----------------------------------------------------------|
u d u d u d d u d u u d u d u u (you get it)
E||----2-2-2-2----2-2-2-2----2-2-2-2--------------------------|
B||----3-3-3-3----3-3-3-3----3-3-3-3--------------------------|
G||----2-2-2-2----2-3-3-2----2-2-2-2--------------------------|
D||-0----------------------0-------------------0--------------|
A||-------------0---------------------0--2--4-----------------|
E||-----------------------------------------------------------|
I
abc is a more general way of writing music which specifies the
notes and times (just like staff notation). It looks like this:
X:2
T:Le jet du Lama
C:Phillippe Plard
M:C
K:Am
"Am"e/f/e/d/ cA B^G A2|"F"c/d/c/B/ A^G AB ca|\
"Am"e/f/e/d/ cA B^G A2|A/B/A/G/ FD EF E2:|
^GE DE F/E/D E2|^GE DE FF E2|^GE DE F/E/D E2|^DE F^F G^G A2:|
