Laurie is quite right, but maybe it is a help if some people simply tell
directly you what programms they are using.
About the playing tempo, for a simple solution you maybe know anyway see
below.

For selecting a playback speed, you can and I think that is right for
all programs since it is format standard use a Q:field in the header,
the number entered in this field defines the playback speed.
standard 1.6:
"Q - tempo; can be used to specify the notes per minute, e.g. if
the default note length is an eighth note then Q:120 or Q:C=120
is 120 eighth notes per minute. Similarly Q:C3=40 would be 40
dotted quarter notes per minute. An absolute tempo may also be
set, e.g. Q:1/8=120 is also 120 eighth notes per minute,
irrespective of the default note length."
It is easy to have an alternative Q:field behind a "%" sign that is
activated just when the "%" is removed, like:
Q:90
%Q:120 %my prefered playback speed
