Hi, Spotbeagle, welcome to the list. Do you have a name too, or do you want to remain anonymous? (it's perfectly OK if you do.)

Well, since you apparently use yaps and abcmidi yourself: you know of course that we would have had to delete those two programs too? > > Then tell people that it doesn't work. This is exactly *why* we want to update the standard. At the moment there are *no* programs that follows the current standard (yes, there already is a standard) exactly. > > If the ABC2WIN piece of junk wasn't for convenience, it would have been > gone long ago. Oh, and btw, the reason why there are no lyrics or chords in ABC2WIN is that it *does* follow the _original_ ABC standard. > > So you think writing a standard would prevent this? Not writing (as I said, there already is one), but *updating* it. > > There's to many > jokers out their that think they have to change > everything around, thinking they'll make a "name" for them selves. You're right. That's one of the main reasons why we end up with fist fights rather than getting any real work done. :-( Frank Nordberg http://www.musicaviva.com To subscribe/unsubscribe, point your browser to: http://www.tullochgorm.com/lists.html
