YES

BUT:
There is a more or less infinite number of tempo indicaters that have
been or are used today by composers and other musicans.
No troubles if the player program simply uses whatever default if it
does not recognize the term. 

All proposals that use Q:text within a tune loose backwards
compatability whith (all?) old programs. 
All proposals which use "Q:numeral (space?) 'extention of whatever kind'
" have better chances that backwards compatability whith (some) old
programs is provided.
