No, they're very basic systems used for text and speaker work.
I suppose I could use Java on another machine to translate stuff and copy
the new file versions on floppy to the machines I do my editing on.

Thanks for the offer, it sounds good enough for transcription error
checking already. But when you say "piano voice" that makes me think
of midi, which makes me think of a sound card :-(

I don't think your program is going to send the ASCII characters that
make the earth move for the little conical piece of tin that is
soldered on inside my computer box, but it sounds like a great
project for most normal users' needs, and I wish you every success
and enjoyment with it!
