Hallo Atte,
some days ago I tried to subscribe to the abc-list without success (I receive mail, but cannot send mail to it...).
May I ask you to forward the following question to the list?
Thanks,
Christoph
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: M:none and actual metrum --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hallo,
when transcribing early music into abc it is a common problem that the displayed metrum is not the actual metrum, e.g. C| can be 4/4, 2/4, 2/1 or any other even time signature or M:3 can be 3/2, 6/8, 12/8 or any other triple time.
Even more obvious is this problem with M:none.
In order to support this situation in abctab2ps I am pondering an extension of the M: field syntax, eg.
M:2/1 display=C|
Before I introduce yet another incompatibility with existing abc software I would like to ask whether there is already an existing solution for this situation.
Any comments are welcome,
Christoph
