I use the abcm2ps %%footer tag for this, e.g.: %%footer Modified: <2004-07-21 14:13:59 bert> Every abc file I have is time stamped like this and when I print the tune, the date is at the bottom of each page. I use Emacs to transcribe tunes in abc and it manages the time stamp automatically. However, I wouldn't recommend installing Emacs just for abc editing (some say that Emacs stands for "Eventually Munches All Computer Storage"), but I don't know of other text editors that can do time stamping, especially not for Windows...
