I am new to AbiWord development, (and to software development in
general) but I thought I would tackle bug 343. I now have two questions
for you folks.
1 while 343 seems alive and well in my version (0.7.7), if you try
to save a file in a directory that you don't have write privileges for, a
more informative (but probably still not sufficent) error message is
given. Given the number of times I've looked at (what I think are) all
the relevant function, I wonder where this behavior comes from (I have not
found the code for it) and whether it can be extrapolated to all save
error messages.
2 before I came accross problem 1, i managed to essentially finish
off bug 343. the only part that i couldn't complete was actually
displaying the error message. the message appears to be reffered to as
AP_STRING_ID_MSG_SaveFailed, but I could not find a definition of this
anywhere. (It would have helped it the LXR text-search function worked.)
So, I would be interested to find out how one would send a different
message to the dialog.
