GTK+ uses an '_' to act as an accelerator. The AbiWord design guys made
the decision to use the '&' character (which is the standard on windows)
in all of our menus/other accelerators about 3 years ago.

The result is that GTK+ and other GUI toolkits map the & -> _ and it's
that easy.
