Nope, none of them are. GNUmakefile.am files are in CVS, autogen.sh makes
GNUmakefile.in files of them, and configure turns them into plain 
GNUmakefile files.

I presume you used MSVC to build it? Or did it try to use gcc?

I have been out of touch for a few months, so I am not quite sure
what the status of MSVC vs. gcc is. I am afraid this is a FAQ,
but is there any inherent reason why gcc would not be good enough to 
build AbiWord on Windows, and why we would need MSVC? I suspect there
are some libraries in MSVC we need? I don't have MSVC and I won't buy
it, but I might give gcc/cygwin a try (I am not a Windows man, but
still).
