I'd like to support the third option. "Close" does not normally quit the
application. Since quitting is fairly major, it should never do so
without warning.

Actually, I'd like a dialogue which says 'Would you like to create a new
document, or Exit AbiWord?' with "New" and "Exit" buttons, defaulting to
"New".
